Peza opens 1st biz center outside of Manila

IN A bid to provide better services to investors and spread development in other areas in the country, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) has established its first business center outside of Metro Manila here in Davao City.

Located at the Damosa IT Park in Lanang, the Peza Davao Business and Investment Center will initially assist its clients processing import and export permits, provide detailed services like document processing, and connecting clients to other Peza offices.

During the launch of the Peza Davao Business and Investment Center, Peza director general Charito Plaza said the establishment of the center in Davao City is part of their efforts in spreading development throughout the country.

"This is where we will be guiding our potential investors. The inauguration today is also a major event because we are now into this direction of spreading the development in the countryside," Brigadier General Plaza said.

Part of the long term plan for the Peza Davao Business and Investment Center is to have engineers, accreditors, examiners, and personnel from the Bureau of Customs to guide locators.

Aside from future investors, the Peza Davao Business and Investment Center will also be catering to 14 agro-industrial and five manufacturing zones in Davao Region.
