PMA urges Cebuano youth to join academy, take exam in Cebu City

THE Philippine Military Academy (PMA) will hold one of its annual entrance examinations in Cebu City on Aug. 2, Sunday.

Lt. Judyline Badana Canoneo, a PMA faculty member, said the test will be given at the Aznar Coliseum Complex in Southwestern University on Urgello St., Cebu City.

She said they found out that only few applicants came from Cebu in the past years, even if Cebu is one of the 37 examination centers in the country.

“I would like to call on Cebuano youth aged 17 to 21 to join us. Be a PMA cadet and accept the challenge to serve the country in the noblest way,” said Canoneo, a Cebuana and member of the 2007 PMA Class.

The applicants are for the 2020 Class, which has a quota of 350 cadets.

Applicants should stand 5’0” and should be natural-born Filipino citizens. They must be at least a high school graduate, physically fit and with good moral character.

They must also be single and have never been married, have no administrative or criminal case, must pass the entrance exams and must be bornbetween April 1, 1994 and April 1, 1999.

Those interested to apply should bring a photocopy of their birth certificate, valid identification card, two 2x2 pictures with white background and a photocopy of their high school report card.

“If they cannot bring those requirements, we can also give consideration,” said Canoneo.

“For the examination, we have no quota. We will accept all applicants who are willing to join and to serve the country,” she added.
