THREE members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) yesterday landed in a police detention cell after one of them allegedly pointed a gun at a security guard during a drinking session at a bar on Gen. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City.
Private First Class Leand Bryce Nemil Aujero, 26, may be charged with grave threat for pointing a gun at security guard Garido Calinawan Ampong, 46.
Aujero and his two companions, Private First Class Jovy dela Cruz, 24, and Aljun Diocana, 29, will also be charged for violating Cebu City ordinance 1929 on drunkenness.
Chief Insp. David Señor, chief of the Fuente Police Station, said the Central Command (Centcom) personnel were allegedly drinking at the bar when at 2:40 a.m., Aujero allegedly pulled out his .45 pistol and pointed it at Ampong.
Irked
Señor said the Centcom personnel reportedly got irked at something that Ampong said.
Ampong sought the help of a member of the Mobile Patrol Group (MPG) who was patrolling in the area at that time.
Señor said dela Cruz and Diocana tried to stop the police from arresting Aujero.
The AFP personnel, who are detained at the Fuente Police stockade, declined to comment.
Gun
The police seized from Aujero a .45 pistol with six live bullets. The gun was issued to Aujero by the Intelligence and Security Unit in Camp Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City.
Centcom public information officer Lt. Jim Alagao said they will also investigate the three men.
Alagao said Aujero may be demoted or discharged from service if proven guilty.
Dela Cruz and Diocana may be charged for ungentlemanly conduct under the AFP rules and may be suspended. Their allowances may also be reduced.
As of yesterday, the Fuente Police Station has yet to receive Ampong’s complaint against Aujero.
