AN ESTIMATED P500,00 worth of properties were destroyed by fire that hit the barracks of the 2nd Maneuver Platoon, 1st Maneuver Company of the Philippine National Police Regional Public Safety Battalion-18 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Tuesday morning.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Marilou de la Cruz, acting city fire marshal of Bureau of Fire Protection, said the fire started 9:43 a.m. and was put off after 23 minutes.
The fire destroyed the shelters of the policemen made of bamboos and light materials, as well long firearms, two motorcycles, and other valuables.
De la Cruz said the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.
No injuries were reported.
