Police officer collared for illegal drugs

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- A police officer and his cohort were arrested while about to deliver prohibited drugs in a restaurant in Paniqui, Tarlac, Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent Alex Sintin, officer-in-charge of Tarlac Police Provincial Office, identified those arrested as Police Officer 3 Emmerson Garcia, presently assigned at the Paniqui Police Station and Dennis Navarro, a resident of Paniqui town.

Sintin said that Garcia was arrested after another suspected pusher, identified as Margarette Tapang of Barangay Estacion, Paniqui, was earlier nabbed in a buy-bust operation at the Total Gas Station, Barangay Abagon, Paniqui town.

Tapang admitted that she has been delivering illegal drugs here to several unidentified “buyers” when she was accosted.

Sintin said Tapang disclosed that her companions and supplier of shabu were waiting for her at the Isdaan Restaurant in Paniqui who turned out to be Navarro and Garcia who was in his gray silver Hyundai car (bearing plate number NCO 357).

Confiscated from Garcia were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and numerous drug paraphernalia and 9-millimeter Berreta pistol and 10 pieces of used lighters. (Ric Sapnu)
