CHIEF Superintendent Cesar Binag, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas and Chief Superintendent Moises Mabanag, deputy regional director for administration of PRO-Central Visayas, will lead the turnover ceremony of PRO-Negros Island Region (NIR) in Bacolod City Friday.
The rites will be held at 9 a.m. at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) headquarters in Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania.
Chief Superintendent Edmund Gonzales, director of PRO-NIR, will turn over the 5,387 policemen and staff to both PROs in Western and Central Visayas.
Of the 5,387 personnel, 3,495 from Negros Occidental will be turnover to PRO-Western Visayas while 1,892 from Negros Oriental will be endorsed to PRO-Central Visayas.
All the regional offices under the NIR are scheduled to shut down operations by October 9, after President Rodrigo Duterte signed Executive Order 38 abolishing the region.
PRO-NIR will end its operations in NIR today after finishing the clearing operations.
Gonzales will return to the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame while waiting for his next assignment while other affected regional personnel will be given new assignments.
