Police rescue Malaysian sex worker in Zamboanga

OPERATIVES of the Women and Children's Protection Desk (WCPD) have rescued a Malaysian national believed to be a human trafficking victim from a night club in Zamboanga City.

Superintendent Bonifacio Arañas, Police Station 11 chief, identified the rescued Malaysian national as a certain Nursiah, alias Iya, 23.

Arañas said Nursiah was rescued around 4 p.m. Tuesday at a night club in the village of Camino Nuevo, Zamboanga City.

Arañas said the rescue of Nursiah came after they received report that a Malaysian minor sex worker is working at the night club.

He said Nursiah was turned over to the social welfare department. (Bong Garcia/Sunnex)
