ANGELES CITY -- The city police is still establishing a lead to identify the lone gunman who shot a woman in the head on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Police Officer 4 Evelyn Pineda, officer on case, said they are still investigating if the shooting of Rosana Oronce Agrano, 46, has something to do with her work as an agent of a lending firm which serves policemen.
According to Pineda, the city police already coordinated with Agrano’s husband who is a police officer assigned at the drug enforcement unit of the Floridablanca police in Pampanga.
“Cooperative naman sya (Agrano’s husband),” Pineda said.
Agrano was shot in the head Tuesday afternoon in front of a fast food chain and a jeepney terminal in Barangay Santo Domingo.
Agrano underwent a surgery Wednesday night at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital in the City of San Fernando, according to Pineda.
“Naoperahan na po siya kagabi (Wednesday night). We are still waiting for the feedback of the family on her recent condition,” Pineda said.
Agrano, while lying along the busy area, was seen in several photos posted on the Facebook by bystanders who at first thought that she was dead.
Chief Inspector Erwin O. Marzan, Police Station 1 chief, reported that the gunman shot the victim once and immediately fled on board his motorcycle.
CCTV footages obtained by police investigators showed that the culprit, who was wearing a helmet, was following Agrano before he shot her with a 9mm pistol.
Text messages from Agrano’s cellphone revealed that somebody was threatening to shoot her on the head, police said.
