AUTHORITIES are still trying to obtain the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of SM Southmall to identify the persons who gunned down a Pasay City councilor on Saturday evening, August 5, a police official said.

Pasay City Councilor Borbie Rivera was shot dead outside the SM Southmall's door 4 around 8:30 p.m. by motorcycle-riding gunmen, one of them reportedly boarded an SUV after the incident.

Police Officer 2 Earl Loterte of Las Piñas City said they are still coordinating with the mall's security office to obtain the CCTV recordings.

Rivera, who survived an ambush last June, was declared dead at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center.

The incident reportedly caused panic to people inside the mall, forcing the mall management to suspend operations for over an hour.

Loterte said they are also yet to interview the councilor's family members and security aides to find out the motive in the killing. (SunStar Philippines)
