PORAC -- Porac officials led by Vice-Mayor Dexter David and the Philippine Dental Association (PDA)-Pampanga Chapter hosted the oral health program in Barangay Sepung Bulaon here as they hope to promote the awareness of o maintaining good oral health.

The event was a joint program of Philippine Dental Association-Angeles Chapter headed by Dr. Alvin Dayrit and Municipal Health Office headed by Dr. Panlilio together with the Rural Health Unit dentists Dr. Mary Ann Basilio and Dr. Ruth Roque.

Dozens of residents received free dental services and lectures from volunteer doctors. The event also featured talks and oral health lectures for pre-schoolers along with their guardians to promote and value oral hygiene at a young age. Organizers said that oral hygiene is one of the most neglected areas of health among Filipinos.

Less privileged members of the community would visit the dentist for tooth extraction as the last recourse rather than for prophylaxis or prevention. This event encouraged participants to prioritize oral health and appreciate our teeth that give us beauty and confidence.

David said that the event was made possible through the help of PDA-Angeles City Chapter dentists Dr. Girlie Manalang-Hilario, Dr. Romeo Adriano, Dr. Jen Ventic, Dr. Anna Lisa Dayrit-Del Rosario.

"Thank you also to Barangaty Captain Nelia Lusung and Sepung Bulaon Elementary School faculty headed by their Principal, Ma’am Irene Pabustan," David added.

The event was held this month to coincide with the celebration of Oral Health Month.
