THE Davao City Light and Power Corporation, Inc. (DLPC) turned over five electrical laboratories (e.labs) to five high schools in Davao City to support of the Department of Education (DepEd)'s K-12 curriculum.
"The Electrical Lab project is our continuing support to Deped's Technical Vocational Courses for the K-12 Curriculum," DLPC President Jaime Jose Aboitiz said during the turnover ceremony Wednesday, March 22 at the F. Bangoy National High School.
Jesus Soriano National High School, Fransisco Bangoy National High School, Pablo Lorenzo National High School, Tugbok National High School and Dacudao National High School received the training facilities.
Each laboratory costs around P550,000.
Aboitiz said the e.labs will be used by the senior high school students who enrolled under the new Electrical, Installation and Maintenance course in the K-12 curriculum.
He said this year, nine new laboratories will be handed over to five public high schools in Davao City and four in Davao Del Norte for the school year 2017 to 2018.
"Having DepEd as a partner is indeed a great opportunity for us to bring hope to the lives of our youth through programs of technical vocational skills training. We want to help the young generation as they venture to learn and develop their skills as electricians," he said.
