Presentation of witnesses vs Roxas blast suspect moved

THE prosecution moved to object the presentation of witnesses to determine if there is enough probable cause to indict Abdul Jabbar Sema, also known as Datu Masla Sema, for the frustrated murder case connected to the Roxas night market blast.

Regional Trial Court Judge Callo, during the hearing Friday, January 3, directed the prosecution to submit a memoranda to prove that witnesses Jackson Usi and Ausa Mamasapano should not be cross examined to determine probable cause.

The prosecution said cross examining of the said witnesses should be done in trial proper and this could delay the case proceedings.

Sema's lawyer German Operiano said cross examination is necessary to decide whether or not there is probable cause to indict his client.

Prosecution said evidences are already provided and if the court is in doubt, they can provide additional evidences.

Callo ordered for both parties to file memoranda before the hearing of the motion for reconsideration set on March 1.
