PRO-Cordillera programs to go national

THE best practices of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera will be adopted by national police and cascaded to various regional offices nationwide.

Police Regional Advisory Council chairman and former Baguio City Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. explained most of the regional projects of Cordillera have been adopted particularly the computerization and crime mapping instituted by then regional directors Bennjie Magalong and the Community Oriented Policing System of then Chief Superintendent Isagani Nerez.

In the recent revalidation of the police governance system, PRO-Cordillera presented an impressive report indicating through data an effective management of the police.

"The independent statistical data coming from the tourism department, bureau of internal revenue and the statistical office indicated a high performance in Peace and order pointing to a good management of the Regional Police force", said Bautista.

The revalidation is centered on the roles and responsibilities of the technical working group together with the command group and external stakeholders under the guidance of Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) and Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), develop the PNP charter statement and formulation of scorecard.

It’s primarily responsible in cascading the PNP Charter Statement and scorecard to 17 Police Regional Offices responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of the Communications Plan on the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. PLAN 2030.

"Although we have received a golden award in our police governance system in the past and is vying to receive another this year, we must continue to improve to ensure the public of an organization dedicated in performing its task in maintaining peace and order in our region," Bautista added.
