Probe continues despite raps vs Imok slay mastermind

THE police are not yet over in their investigation on the murder of Ermita Barangay Captain Felicisimo "Imok" Rupinta following the filing of charges against Winefredo Miro, the alleged mastermind behind the official's death.

Superintendent Reyman Tolentin, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas spokesperson, said complaints will be filed if there are new evidence linking another person.

PRO-Central Visayas Director Jose Mario Espino said last Thursday a witness told the investigators that Miro, the Cebu City Market Office operation chief, has a boss.

Espino said they will look into the witness's claims and find out who Miro's boss is.

The personnel of the Regional Intelligence Division-Central Visayas filed a murder complaint for Rupinta's death last Thursday afternoon.

A separate complaint of attempted murder was filed against Miro for Rupinta's common-law wife, Jocelyn Mendoza, who was with the village official at the time of the incident.

Miro had tendered his resignation letter, but he denied it has to do with the case. He said he received death threats, unsettling him and his family.

Tolentin urged Miro to face the complaints. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
