PSTMO conducts info guide for ‘no reserved parking’ violators

THE Public Safety and Management Office (PSTMO) conducted an information guide for the violators of “No Reserved Parking” ordinance in Iloilo City.

According to PSTMO head Jeck Conlu, in a phone interview on March 23, they were currently informing the establishments for proper understanding of the ordinance.

“We are giving them the copy of the ordinance and we are expecting that they will cooperate with the government,” Conlu said.

PSTMO provides the establishments a copy of Regulation Ordinance 2012-329 which amends the ordinance of 2011-458 entitled, “An ordinance prohibiting and penalizing the installation and putting up of “Reserved Parking for Customers Only” signages in any public roads, duly established parking spaces for public use, and open space provided by private establishments in the city of Iloilo.”

It is considered a violation if an establishment puts up a “Reserved Parking for Customers Only” on the public places.

The clearing aims direct these establishment to comprehend with the ordinance.

“We conduct information guide to avoid the arguments if the clearing teams will operate again,” Conlu said.

As of now, they will have continuous operation and currently prioritizing the establishments in City Proper.

The strict implementation or the penalization will be after the Holy Week or during summer period for the preparation of the opening classes in June.

The penalty amounts t P1,000 for the first offense; P2,000 for 2nd and P5,000 or imprisonment for not more than 5 days or both.

So far, the establishments concedes to those who they have encountered during their clearing operations.

PSTMO is teamed up with the Taskforce Asis for the said operation.
