PVO launches community outreach program

THE Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) of Negros Occidental launched its community outreach program at Hacienda Ilimnan in Barangay Sta. Rosa Murcia recently.

The activity, which gathered 13 children and their parents, was highlighted by project orientation on the purpose of the program, feeding, and distribution of school kits containing notebooks, pencils, and bond papers.

Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said the outreach program is aimed at making their employees become morally and socially responsible by responding to the needs of the community where the PVO operates.

“PVO is highly responsive, not only in quality services for the attainment of a competitive animal industry in the province, but also keen on its social mission,” Decena said.

PVO is integrating the outreach program, which will be conducted twice a month, with its regular activities.

Other activities will include bible stories reading, film showing, artworks, among others.

The program also intends to develop strong local ties with the residents of Barangay Sta. Rosa to lead to a more productive engagement of livelihood projects in the future, Decena added. (EPN)
