THE Zamboanga City Rabies Council, in coordination with the Office of the City Veterinarian (Ocvet), will spearhead the observance of the Rabies Awareness Month in Zamboanga City.
City Veterinarian Mario Arriola said a series of activities has been lined up for the whole month of March.
Arriola said the celebration will begin on Wednesday, March 1, with a motorcade from Pettit Barracks to the Tetuan Central School where a short program and a ceremonial vaccination of dogs will follow.
In a bid to raise responsible pet owners, Arriola said the participants will be entertained with an educational dog show featuring the various breeds of dogs in the city while an educational film will be screened for Grades 3 to 5 pupils.
For its part, the Ocvet will continue its Oplan Alis Rabies, a vaccination program which started in January.
