Razkals survive Phoenix to win U13 title

THE Talisay Razkals are the new champions of the 13-Under title after they survived Phoenix FC, 4-3, in the finals of the 13th Cebu Interclub Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field.

Angelo Colina got Phonex the lead early but Christian Agot answered with an equalizer in the 10th minute and got the lead in 20th. Jascha Tabar doubled the lead in the 43rd minute and Kenneth Miyagi joined in after he made a goal in the 57th minute.

Phoenix made two quick goals in the 58th and 59th minute but fell short for a comeback.

In the 15-Under, Phoenix also stumbled against San Carlos City’s Los Amigos, 1-0, which earned the visiting team a finals appearance after topping Group B.

Los Amigos will take on Group A runner-up Canduman FC, which blanked Villa del Rio 2, 3-0.

Group B runner-up Cebu Dynamo also blanked Ormoc FC, 4-0, and will face Group A leader Don Bosco Technical Center in the semis.

In the 18-Under, Ormoc defeated Mactan Camellanz United, 3-1, while Sacred Heart School- Ateneo de Cebu thrashed Real Cebu, 14-0, to lead Group A in the standings.

They are set to face Pocket Monster in the semis today.

Paref Springdale, on the other hand, solidified its top standing in Group B after demolishing St. Joseph School in Mandaue, 7-0. They will take on Abellana National School in a crossover semifinals.

In the men’s open, San Roque FC cemented the top spot in Group A after winning their last game against Danao FC, 12-3, for a perfect 15 points in five matches.

San Roque will be challenged by Group B runner-up University of Cebu - Nigeria in the first semifinal match, while defending champion Hiroshi will take on Cebu Queen City United in the second semis game. Hiroshi topped Group A after winning its last match against Mactan via forfeit.
