RedTalks

IF YOU follow AirAsia on Facebook, chances are you’ve caught the pilot episode of Season Two of RedTalks with Daphne.

AirAsia’s RedTalks is a series of travel webisodes (web episodes), which premiered in the airline’s social media page last year. With its host, multi-awarded personality Daphne Oseña-Paez, AirAsia brings meaningful connections and conversations to social media.

I was one of the lucky few to get an exclusive peak of the show’s pilot episode a day early at the Roof Deck of Bai Hotel in Cebu.

“The quality of stories and the online engagement we got last year when RedTalks was launched have been overwhelming. For this new season, we aim to raise the level of discussion and cover a wide range of topics to engage our audience and inspire them to have meaningful connections,” said the show’s host.

“Sweet Connections” is RedTalk’s first episode and Davao’s Malagos Chocolate is featured in this show. Daphne travels to Davao with Chef JP Anglo, regarded as one of the “rock star chefs” of the new generation because of creative edgy dishes with strong Filipino identity. Both talk about creating something fresh and new using the award winning Malagos chocolates and include it in AirAsia’s in-flight menu in April.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador said, “AirAsia is a sociable and innovative brand and we embrace social media not only to engage our fans but also to improve and connect with our guests. With RedTalks, we are bringing back the era of talk TV and magazine shows to online audience with a refreshing approach using a platform that has been effective and popular.”

The six-episode RedTalks Season Two will feature Maan Hontiveros tackling women empowerment on the second episode; David Foster and AirAsia’s collaboration to find the Asean region’s most talented and creative individuals for the third episode; raising awareness and combating human trafficking on episode four; Bali, Indonesia’s Ubud Food Festival on episode five; and the success story of the Cambodian Living Arts in Phnom Penh on the sixth and last episode.
