THE Department of Education (DepEd) in Davao Region has requested a refresher course for 541 Civilian Security Units (CSU) deployed in different schools in the city noting that the newly deployed additional 200 trained personnel have performed effectively with their job.
DepEd-Davao City School Division Superintendent, Ma. Inez Asuncion during the City Peace and Order Council on Wednesday, August 2, thanked Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for the 1:1 ratio of CSU per school, confirming that other schools have more than one CSU personnel.
She, however, suggested that other personnel deployed should also undergo trainings.
“We received the 200 additional CSU guard, thank you so much, but actually all schools got their own guards already but we request that the existing 541 guards over and above the 200 new guards be trained because we observed that the newly assigned 200 guards are more effective,” Asuncion said during the CPOC meeting.
Duterte-Carpio said that she had already given directive to the PSSCC that everyone should be trained.
“We will schedule for the other remaining guards so that they could also have the same competence as the others,” Public Safety and Security Command Center head Benito De Leon said.
Duterte-Carpio added that everyone will be trained and everyone will be provided with uniforms all the over 700 CSUs.
