Regus Damosa occupancy now 90%

SIX months after the opening of Regus Center at the Damosa IT Park, the center had already reached 90 percent of its occupancy, exceeding their original target of 80 to 90 percent occupancy by the second year of operations, an executive said.

With 1,600 square meters and a capacity to cater more than 340 workstations, Regus Center in Damosa is known to be the biggest in the Philippines. It was first launched in September 8 last year, occupying the entire 4th floor of the five-story Topaz Tower at the IT Park. Regus is a London-listed company that provides workplace.

The entire 90 percent of the occupants are already operational since its launch.

“We are able to reach the target of occupancy only within six months. As of today, we are almost above 90 percent. It is actually a good indication of what’s really happening in Davao City today. We will be allowing investors from outside of Davao to come into Davao City in a very easy way. Now, they can just come in, rent an office space very easily without having that much in terms of capital expenditures,” said Ricardo Floirendo Lagdameo, vice president of Damosa Land, Inc., during the weekly forum at Habi at Kape, Abreeza Ayala Malls Wednesday, March 8.

Lagdameo said the success in the occupancy rate is the convenience that Regus Center offers where the basic office needs of the locators are readily available.

He said the occupants vary from business process outsourcing (BPO) companies, shipping lines, software development companies, logistics, and some other Davao-based real estate companies.

“It solidifies the thought that indeed a lot of investors are coming in the city very quickly and in a major way. Eighty percent of the occupants of that business center are actually not from Davao City which is actually very encouraging,” said Lagdameo. (JPA)
