Remains of PH ambassador to Pakistan to be flown to Manila Wednesday

MANILA -- The remains of Philippine Ambassador Domingo Lucenario, who died in a military helicopter crash in northern Pakistan, will be repatriated to the country on Wednesday.

Lucenario, 54, was among the six people killed, including the Norwegian envoy, when their chopper crashed Friday in Naltar Valley area.

Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose said Lucenario’s remains will be flown directly to Manila via chartered Pakistan C-130 plane and will be accompanied by Pakistan’s Minister of Commerce.

“The remains will arrive at the Villamor Airbase at 7 a.m.,” Jose said.

A memorial service will be held at the Heritage Park in Taguig City on Thursday and at the DFA the following day, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Other arrangements are still being finalized will be announced at a later time,” Jose said. (PNA)
