Report to DOH, those who got Dengvaxia told

THE Regional Office of the Department of Health is calling on parents of patients who were administered the Dengvaxia vaccine by private pediatricians to go to the DOH Regional Office office in Bajada and leave contact information there for monitoring purpose.

Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Head Cleo Fe Tabada during the I-Speak media forum on Thursday, January 25, said that this will allow the health agency to contact the patients easily.

"Kung magkasakit sila we will find out the problem," she said.

Tabada added that the DOH has already wrote to the Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS) to provide them list of all the patients that were able to get the medicines but not all responded.

She added that they have already listed more than 150 patients all over the region.

Tabada said some of those who are in the list did so voluntarily.

Information in this data banking include the name, age, how many shots of the vaccine, when the vaccination took place, and who administered the vaccination.

She also advised those who were vaccinated to report to DOH should they feel sick.

All these are precautionary measures, she said and that they have not received reports of sickness from those who were injected with Dengvaxia.

Davao Region was not a recipient of the Dengvaxia vaccine but private practitioners administered the vaccine to some patients.
