A RETIRED teacher was believed to be robbed and killed by an unidentified man inside her house at Purok Malipayon in Barangay 12, Bacolod City Saturday, October 7.

Senior Inspector Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 1, identified the fatality as Lourdes Abenita, 67.

Abenita was believed to be strangled to death when she was found inside her house.

Estopa said they are waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine if there was a foul play.

"We also wanted to know the cause of her death as we saw a sort of struggle on her part," Estopa added.

Police also suspect that some of the victim's items in the house were missing.

Estopa said they already have a person of interest but refused to reveal further details.

He said Abenita was living alone but she had a helper whom she asked for an errand if needed.
