A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl died after a slab from a riprap that collapsed fell on her while she was swimming in the seawater of Sudtungan, Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
According to the information gathered by the Homicide Section, Marjorie Dungog was swimming together with other children when the accident happened past 1 p.m. last Sunday.
She was declared dead at the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.
Teofanis Bataluna, Basak peace and security officer, said that the area was temporarily restricted for swimming as there was no assurance yet of the stability of the riprap.
