Roads, traffic office begins clearing of sidewalks in Oro

THE Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) seized and impounded at least one abandoned motorcycle for illegally parking at Tiano-Borja Streets during its surprise sidewalk clearing operations on Thursday.

Lawyer Jose Edgardo Uy, Task Force "Hapsay Dalan" head, said they will conduct the clearing operations regularly to ease congested traffic.

Several owners of motorcycles and private vehicles were made to pay a fine of P1,500 for violating traffic rules.

Uy warned they will be inconsiderate to violators who will be caught illegally parking vehicles on the sidewalks.

We just hope that we, including the public, should work together hand-in-hand," Uy added.

Recently, RTA has hired 35 new traffic enforcers to help manage vehicular traffic which has been lately getting worse especially on peak hours.
