Rob group leader posts bail

THE Police Station 2 released from detention on Thursday, January 18, a rob group leader after he posted a bail of P100,000 for his robbery case.

Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias Jr., head of Police Station 2, confirmed Thursday that Johnnie Villarete III, 31, of Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City was released from police custody around 5 p.m.

His arrest warrant for robbery was served by Chief Inspector Ritchie Gohee, head of Police Station 4, last Wednesday after he was identified by a taxi driver as among the two suspects, who robbed him along C.L. Motelibano Avenue, Barangay Villamonte in Bacolod a few weeks ago.

Villarete also posted bails of P200,000 and P40,000 last Wednesday for his two arrest warrants for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, respectively, after his apprehension in Barangay Bata last Tuesday.

Villarete and his group were involved in a robbery incident in Silay City and series of robbery incidents in Bacolod last year.

The suspect was arrested last August 18 after police recovered from his house suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and drug paraphernalia.

He was also previously arrested by operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bacolod at Bredco port in October last year for robbery. He, however, posted bail of P100,000 a few hours after his apprehension.
