RPA-ABB commander shot dead

A COMMANDER of Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) was shot to death by nine unidentified men at Sitio Agbalasyang, Barangay Bago, Salvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental Saturday morning, July 8.

Chief Inspector Jovito Bose, town police chief, identified the fatality as Charlie Buli-Buli, 35, of the said barangay.

Buli-Buli was on his way to his farm, along with his 14-year-old nephew, around 8 a.m. when the assailants blocked their way and fired at him. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Bose said his nephew was threatened at gunpoint then the gunmen escaped on foot.

Recovered from the scene were 13 fired bullets of M16 rifle, two cartridges of M203, and a cartridge of .9mm caliber.

Bose said they already have the identities of some of the perpetrators who could be from an armed group in the area, or could be communist rebels.

“We are still conducting a thorough investigation,” he added.
