Born in Pampanga but spent his whole life in Metro Manila, Francis graduated from the Centro Escolar University with a degree in Broadcasting. He spent decades as a radio jock and news caster, and at the age of 26, seamlessly transitioned into a full-time host.
“I started with radio. I was already on-air with ABC Channel 5’s Kool 106.7 FM at the age of 18. And while doing that, I also realized that I have a passion for DJ-ing, as in like records and music. So, I do that on the side, back in the day. I would radio DJ and I would club DJ after work,” he said.
“From there, I was engaged in a lot of hosting engagements, because when you’re a DJ, you’re instantly acquainted with a lot of events and gatherings. Eventually, I decided to go full time on hosting… and the rest is history,” he added.
Since then, Francis has cemented his place among the top emcees in the Metro. He has worked with a lot of big names in the industry, including some of the country’s prominent corporate organizations, celebrities, and personalities.
With his special talent to work a crowd and drive an event where the organizers wanted it to go, he has built a reputable and formidable name backed by his professionalism and passion.
He shared that he believes that he emerged above the rest, as he has his own originality and uniqueness.
“I think it’s my voice that is different from other emcees. Also, I believe that I’m different because of my style, my good lingual command which I developed through the years of being a radio broadcaster, my stage presence and the way I entertain guests,” he noted.
The combination of his enthusiastic personality and excellent speech delivery ensures that the events he hosts not only run like clockwork, but are also memorable.
“Long before, I realized that weddings and other events are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create memories. So, I really exert so much effort and energy to make events, especially nuptials, as memorable as it can be. It gives me so much joy and fulfillment when I see my couple, truly enjoyed and satisfied that they booked the right person,” he said.
Asked what his secret to success is, he comes with a quick reply: “The secret is to stay humble and original. I believe that your technique and style will be your brand and distinction so you have to develop your own. Stay true and grounded, it will keep you longer than others.”
When Francis is not getting the crowd motivated and involved, he is busy running his own local business and spending time with his wife.
“When I’m out of work which is usually two to four days a week, I am most probably at home with my better half, listening to good old music from back in the day. Also, I like going to church for solemnity,” he shared.
