THE 2nd Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Invitational Football Championships kicks off next month at the Fr. Julian Hernando Football Field at the SHS-AdC in Canduman, Mandaue City.
The event will be separated into two weekends - the seven-a-side festival on July 15 and the 11-a-side tournament on July 22 and 23.
The football festival is composed of a total of 120 teams in nine divisions. At least 10 teams will be visiting clubs.
The categories of the festival are Mixed Players 6, Players 8, Players 10, Boys 12, Boys 14, Girls 14, Boys 17 and Boys 19.
The highlight of the event is the two-day 11-a-side tournament in the Boys Under-14 division or Born 2003 the following weekend.
The Boys Under-14 tournament features host and reigning Aboitiz Football Cup champion SHS-AdC, 2016 Palarong Pambansa winner Ateneo de Davao, Garcia Hernandez-Bohol, Sagay FC, Ceres Cup 2017 titleholder I, Pagasa FC, Giuseppe FC, Don Bosco Victorias and San Carlos FC of San Carlos City.
The teams will be separated into three groups playing in 40-minute matches. The top four teams will advance to the knockout semifinals and the winners will go on to the finals. (EKA)
