San Fernando lauds young techie wizard

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mayor Edwin Santiago together with the City Council granted a resolution of meritorious commendation to a young "techie wizard" who qualified in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) International Robotics Competition to be held in Sochi, Russia.

Joaquin Lim Galang, 11, is a grade 6 student from the Heath's Montessori Learning Center, a resident of Barangay Baliti, and born from Paolo Licup Galang and Rhea Angela Lim Galang. He is the only Fernandino participant-winner, emerging third place during the 13th Philippine Robotics Olympiad-Open Category Elementary Level held at SM City North EDSA on September 12, 2014.

The City Government also awarded a check amounting to P20,000 to Galang as financial support for the competition, which will be held this month.

"We take pride in Joaquin, who despite his young age, with God-given talents continue to bring honor and pride not only to the City of San Fernando, Pampanga but to the entire Philippines, as well. This is Fernandino First!" said Santiago.

“In recognition of this once in a lifetime glory and honor bestowed upon the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, the city government deems fit to give due recognition and commendation to him,” said Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin.
