THE Davao City Council approved on second reading Tuesday the Supplemental Budget 1 (SB1) that amounted to P217 million.
The SB1 for 2014 contains a total proposed appropriations in the amount of P217,709,007.84.
Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang said the Office of the City Mayor got the highest share of the budget with P90,770,560. Of this amount, P50,906,202.94 or 56.08 percent is for peace and order program and P37,121,598.27 or 40.90 percent is for Lingap Program or for settlement of prior year's obligations and augmentation of the existing appropriation.
The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) ranked second with a proposed appropriation of P45,358,805.74.
Out of that amount, P14,019,372.36 is set aside to pay said office's prior year's obligation, specifically hauling and gasoline consumption during the month of December.
Meanwhile, some P31,050,433.38 is also set aside to augment current year's budget for hauling services of P23,007,651.50 and for Environment/Sanitary Services of P7,944,000.
The Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (City Council) has an appropriation of P33,649,566.73 for various items that are to be funded from reversion of its current and prior years appropriations.
Also included in this supplemental budget is an appropriation in the total amount of P14,255,000 for the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) Incentives - (First Tranche) at P5,000 each plantilla personnel of the City Government of Davao.
The rest of the offices both under the General Fund Proper and the Economic Enterprises have been provided with a budget of P1 million or less for payment of their respective prior year's obligations.
Also, re-roofing projects of various public markets have been set aside in this supplemental budget, which are to be funded from the CY 2013 Surplus, derived from the Operation of Markets.
The Development Fund with a total appropriation of P22,349,301.29 is also included in the SB1 -- social development (P6,732,039.29), economic development (P5,357,512), development administration (P3,557,750) and infrastructure projects (P6,702,000).
Meanwhile, the City also appropriated P8,004,569.21 for economic enterprises' operations of markets (P7,420,037.21), operation of slaughterhouse (P237,732), operation of DCOTT (P288,600), operation of cemeteries (P55,200), and operation of Sta. Ana Port (P3,000).
The sources of funds are from surplus of calendar year 2013 (P77,187,566.89), reversion of various appropriations (P136,468,006.55), and local sources per certification of the city treasurer (P4,053,433.84).
Dayanghirang said the SB1 is expected to be approved during the regular session set Wednesday, September 3.
