Scientific sessions on natural products

THE Natural Products Society of the Philippines (NPSP) will be hosting the 21st NPSP Convention this Dec. 1 and 2 at the University of San Carlos-Talamban Campus. The theme for this year’s conference is Integrating Efforts in the Utilization and Commercialization of Natural Products.

The NPSP was founded in 1986 to underscore research in chemistry and biology centered on the sustainable use of products derived from natural resources. This annual meeting enables members of the society to share their current work and interact with like-minded researchers. The goal is to encourage collaborative work among members of the organization to advance research and development in the field of natural products.

This year’s scientific sessions will cover the areas of biodiversity, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, natural products development, natural products chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and the standardization of research practices. All interested parties are invited to submit scientific papers for oral presentation and/or posters for exhibit. Walk-in participants are welcome to register on the first day of the convention.
