Search for Mutya ng Pilipinas Central Luzon starts

CLARK FREEPORT -- The search for 2017 Mutya ng Pilipinas Central Luzon leg is on.

Abel Antonio, regional director of the Mutya ng Pilipinas Central Luzon, said this during the Talk Widus monthly media forum of the Pampanga Press Club (PPC) at Widus Hotel and Casino Wednesday, may 3.

Antonio said the screening, swimsuit completion, and pictorial of candidates will be held on May 21 at the Venus Hotel and Sports Club in Balibago, Angeles City.

The coronation night, on the other hand, is slated on June 10 also at the Venus Hotel, according to Antonio, who obtained the franchise of the beauty contest’s regional leg in 2012.

The winner in the Central Luzon leg will be represent the Central Luzon region in the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 which will be held in August, Antonio said.

Candidates should be natural-born women, at least 5’5 in height, 18 to 24 in age, single, high-school graduate, and a resident of the seven provinces in Central Luzon.

In 2012, Emma Tiglao from Mabalacat City bagged the crown in the regional tilt. Tiglao was then crowned first runner up in the national competition.

In the same year, another winner Camile Guevarra from Porac town won the title Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific.

Last year, Mutya ng Pilipinas Central Luzon Ashley Singh, an information officer of Angeles City now, bagged the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2016 Tourism International and represented the country in the 2017 Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International in China.

Mutya ng Pilipinas Central Luzon is now on its 22nd year with Maricel Morales as the first winner in 1995.
