SEDA Abreeza Hotel was awarded a four-star rating by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Davao Region last Friday, September 22.
According to DOT-Davao Regional Director Robby Alabado III, the star awards are given to hotels that had passed the quality of service standards which is assessed after a thorough inspection of the hotel from the cutleries used, the treatment of the staff to the clients, the food, and even the temperature of the rooms, among others.
“The higher the star, it means the higher of the quality of service that the customers had been receiving,” said Alabado.
As for Seda Abreeza Hotel manager Kennedy Kapulong, he said they are very grateful to have finally been awarded the four-star rating and had their efforts to improve their services acknowledged by DOT-Davao based on the standards set.
“We will continue to provide this quality of service and accommodation here in Davao and of course in Mindanao. This is really a big achievement for us and I am very happy that Seda Abreeza got this four-star rating,” Kapulong said.
However, he also said the rating is a challenge for them as well to keep up with the status.
“This is why we always keep up with the upgrade of knowledge and skills through trainings, and even for facilities, so we’ll always keep on growing and improving so we’ll see to it that we keep up with this big challenge that we’re holding,” he said.
Currently, the only four-star hotels in Davao City are Seda Abreeza Hotel and Park Inn by Radisson Davao while Marco Polo Hotel remains the only five-star hotel in the city.
