A SEPTUAGENARIAN was arrested for sale and possession of illegal drugs at Purok 3, Barangay Aguisan in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Monday, September 25.
Police identified the suspect as Pedro Rivera Jr., 72.
Confiscated from Rivera were three sachets of suspected "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride), and the P5,030 marked money.
Rivera was brought to a hospital after he fell ill during the arrest.
He is facing drug charges.
Driver dies
An unidentified man died after his motorcycle hit a private vehicle along Mansilingan-Murcia Road in Bacolod City early Tuesday morning.
Investigation showed the victim, who was reportedly speeding, hit the car driven by Marlon Entela.
Senior Inspector Ramil Sarona, head of Police Station 7, said the victim was under the influence of intoxicating liquor and would usually chase other vehicles for a race based on the testimonies of the witnesses in the area. (GYM)
