Sharon Cuneta reveals almost breaking up with husband

MEGASTAR Sharon Cuneta admitted Tuesday that she and husband, Senator Francis Pangilinan, almost broke up over a few misunderstanding.

In a "Magandang Buhay" guest appearance of the couple on Tuesday, the singer/actress shared that just like any other marriage, they did hit some rough patches.

Cuneta said that she's thankful that Pangilinan stayed by her side and assured his love for her.

"I am so blessed to have ended up with you (Pangilinan) because you are the only one that promised to love me and really stood by it," Cuneta said.

She said she is blessed to have found a life partner in him.

"Sometimes maybe you don't feel that you are that precious to me. That sometimes I know that you know that my mind is elsewhere," she said.

"Sometimes I feel that you know what goes in my heart and you don't say anything. But I want you to know that your God's gift to me and I'm so blessed to have found you," she added.

Pangilinan, on his part, thanked his wife of 20 years for all the sacrifices she made for their family.

And four children after, he assures Cuneta that he will hold true to the promise he made during their wedding day – to stand beside her through thick and thin.

"Sabi ko nung ikinasal tayo that I will love you until the last breath in me is gone. So, that means always. At marami tayong dinaanang ups and downs, parang roller coaster ride minsan," he said.

The senator said that when they were going through a rough patch, he just lifted it to the Lord and believed that their love will survive.

"Ganun talaga ang buhay mag-asawa, may mga pagsubok talaga. Pero ako ay naniniwala mula nang tayo ay nag-isang dibdib, kumbaga ipinagdasal natin ang isa't isa," she said.

"You are God's gift to me. So, if you receive a gift from the Lord, iyan ba e babalewalain mo? Pababayaan mo? Itatapon mo? Precious yan, mahalaga yan. Aaalagaan mo yan at lagi mong bibigyan ng halaga. You are God's precious gift to me," she added.

In the end, Pangilinan reaffirms his love and commitment to Cuneta.

"I have and I will and I will always take care of you, value you and love you," he said.

To recall, the couple was a subject of extramarital rumors a few years ago.

Cuneta stood by her husband and denied allegations of a third party or even an illegitimate child. She even offered a reward to anyone who could prove that Pangilinan has a kept woman. (Sunnex)
