Showbiz couple's daughter commits suicide

KAPAMILYA teen actress Julia Louise Buencamino, daughter of veteran actors Nonie and Shamaine Buencamino, committed suicide on Tuesday evening, reports said.

Buencamino's body was found hanging from the ceiling in their residence in Quezon City at around 8 p.m.

She was rushed to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City and was declared dead on arrival.

In a report by dzMM radio, Nonie asked the police to stop the investigation because he was convinced that his daughter took her life.

He did not elaborate as the Buencamino family asked the public in a statement to give them a chance to mourn the teen actress' death in private.

"We make this appeal for privacy also on behalf of those close to us, who wish to remember Julia and celebrate her life in peace and quiet," the family said.

Buencamino is the youngest child of Nonie and Shamaine.

The 15-year-old actress appeared in the daytime drama "Oh My G!" as lead actress Janella Salvador’s best friend.

Buencamino's co-stars took to social media to express their grief over her sudden death.

“Sobrang sad ng news. Hindi ko talaga ma-imagine na ganun pala kabigat ang problem niya na dadating sa point na mag-suicide siya,” said Maris Racal in an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal.

Racal also remembered Buencamino as a cheerful girl.

The Buencaminos thanked everyone for giving their love, understanding, and prayers of support "during this time of profound grief."

"Julia led a beautiful and blessed life, and she will be fondly remembered and terribly missed by her family and friends," the family said. (Marie Shane Krizzia Delgado, UST intern/Sunnex)
