Smart Padala installing 500 centers in Mindanao

SMART Padala, one of the leading remittance networks in the country is nearing completion of installing 500 more centers in Mindanao.

Butch Conejos, head for domestic business of the company, told media on Friday, November 18, during the network’s launch of its Christmas Holiday giveaway discount and raffle promo at Avanceña Street, Davao City that starting January this year, 300 partners have been added to their network or around 60 percent of this year’s target at 500 centers.

“We target to complete all these by yearend,” he said.

The network, Conejos said, is geared towards adding 2,000 centers nationwide on top of its existing 15,000 centers in the country. Of the figure, 50 of which are in Davao City. He added that by the end of 2016, total Smart Padala centers in Mindanao will reach around 1,800 centers.

“This is pursuant to network’s push of reaching more areas in the country, serving the unserved. This expansion will strengthen our leadership in the remittance service industry,” he said, adding that they launched a new campaign with its new ambassador, Angel Locsin, to reinforce the brand message – PadaLapit.

Meanwhile, the company, in time for Christmas, launched here on Friday its Holiday promo dubbed as Holiday Giveaway Discount and Raffle Promo.

Conejos said that the promo allows consumers to enjoy “not only lower padala or sending fees but also a chance to win cash prizes up to P20,000, Happee toothpaste “pang-negosyo” package, and Kawasaki motorcycles when they transact from September 30 to December 31.

For Mindanao clients, Smart Padala is offering an exclusive promo of P10 padala fee for transactions worth P500 and below and P20 fee for P501 to P1,000 transactions. While for P5,001 and above, the fee is determined by adding P10 for every additional P500 sent.

Conejos, also urged the public to be Smart Padala partners to earn more.

“All they need to do is complete basic government requirements (permits), have a physical store and a minimum amount to be able to facilitate processing of remittances,” he said.

He added that Smart Padala center allows micro-entrepreneurs to be a one-stop shop for all the remittance and payment necessities of their community, whether sending or receiving money, loading prepaid accounts, or paying bills.
