THE Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) is shouldering the expenses for the funeral services of the six-year-old rape-slay victim who was found dead in a vacant lot in Barangay Angliongto, Davao City, last May 16.
Maria Luisa Bermudo, CSSDO head in a media interview Monday, May 22, said a team from their office together with City Mayor’s Office chief of staff lawyer Raul Nadela went to the residence of the family last Sunday to check the condition of the victim’s family.
“We are assisting the family aside sa material, of course, the city also gave financial assistance to shoulder the funeral services,” she said.
Bermudo said aside from monitoring the status of the case, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio also provided lawyer for the family, bearing the fact that suspect is now detained is now facing criminal complaint before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
She added that the family plans to bury the child Wednesday, May 24.
