Son of slain inmate killed by a minor caught over drugs

THE son of a slain drug personality, together with a 15-year-old girl, were arrested by anti-narcotics personnel on Tuesday, April 3, in a drug bust.

Lisa Marie (real name withheld), 15, and John Kenneth Tañajura, 18, were nabbed by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas carrying 70 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, around 4:30 p.m. in Barangay Pahina Central, Cebu City.

The contraband has an estimated value of P350,000.

PDEA-Central Visayas information officer Leia Albiar said Tañajura is the son of alleged drug personality Niño Tañajura, who was killed by a minor and older companion on March 24 in Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.

Niño was standing on the sidewalk with his girlfriend before he was shot.

The assailants were hired to kill Niño, a former Cebu City Jail inmate, in exchange of P45,000.

Lisa Marie and Tañajura will be facing complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Selling dangerous drugs is a non-bailable offense. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
