A PRESCHOOL that offers Waldorf education is set to open in Cebu City for the new school year.
St. Michael’s Play Garden, the only Steiner Waldorf preschool in Cebu, will begin classes on Monday, June 15, 2015.
Waldorf education is an internationally-used pedagogy based on the philosophy of the Austrian scientist Rudolf Steiner(1861-1925). It aims to educate the growing child’s “head, hands, heart, and spirit” via truly age-appropriate practices.
Teachers in Waldorf schools believe that education should be fun, stress-free, and geared towards holistic and not just academic development of a child.
Despite the absence of reading and writing in Waldorf preschool, numerous studies have proven how Waldorf education builds a stronger long-term intellectual foundation.
St. Michael’s Play Garden offers Kindergarten; Parent-Toddler Group; After-School Care; After-School Crafts, Arts, Music, and Practical Arts (C.A.M.P.S.); Grade School Support; Homeschool Parent Program; and training workshops for parents, teachers, and yayas (nannies).
