Sugbu Dragons win Buglasan Dragonboat race

THE Sugbu Mighty Dragons captured the Buglasan Dragon Boat Race 2017 overall title after winning one gold medal and one bronze medal in Dumaguete City last Saturday.

The Cebuano paddlers won the 300-meter mixed small boat category with a cumulative time of 3 minutes and 01.80 seconds after two heats.

Team Kay Ganda settled for second place with a time of 3:02.55, while Fire Blade clocked 3:04.03 for third place.

The Sugbu Mighty Dragons led by team captain Arnold Roche Guinicor and coach Jimmy Petilo of Phillippine Air Force Dragon Boat Team also finished third in the 300m open small boat category.

Bohol Paddlers Association ruled the open small boat race, while Calubdagan Yellowfin of Dumaguete City finished second in a race that was joined by eight dragon boat teams.

After a successful stint in Dumaguete City, the Sugbu Mighty Dragons are now preparing for Paddle Surge 2017 slated on Nov. 4 to 5 at the Cancabatoc Bay in Tacloban City. (RSC)
