Sunga is 3rd in Enduro race

DAVAO City's Jung Sunga placed third in the just-concluded Enduro ta Diri 2, Enduro Pilipinas-Mindanao Circuit held in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat.

Sunga of Bagnus Team checked in at 23 minutes and 55 seconds in the mountain bike race that gathered a total of 49 riders all over Mindanao.

Michael Cierro of Zamboanga City captured the title by clocking 22:24 while Michael Sudan Mahomot of General Santos City registered 22:53 to place second.

Rounding up the top 10 were Rhommel Ragasa (24:35), Rommel Aguilar (25:47), Mario Magdato (25:50), Ian Jordan Abalos (26:12), Jeofrey Bode (26:17) and Arnold Rojas (26:26).

Sunga, in a text message to Sun.Star Davao, said that he didn't expect to finish third.

"I was not expecting to be on the stage. I had no practice and idea on what the trail looked like. I was just there to enjoy the race and the environment, and also to gain friends among bikers. It's a bonus that I ended up third," Sunga said.

He will also join the downhill category men's master B of the upcoming 1st Asean Mountain Bike (MTB) Cup on June 13 to 15 in Danao, Cebu.

"Expected namaraming international riders ang sasali pero aim ko lang talaga is to have fun in the race. Malaking bonus na kung manaloako," he said.

He also said that after the Asean MTB Cup, he will join the Enduro Race on July 19 in Davao City.

All winners received medals and trophies in the event organized by The Enduro Network.
