IN LIFE, there will always be good people who will inspire you in many ways and make an impact to your existence.
The opportunities being given to interns by the different media outfits and government agencies in Baguio City to Communication students from the University of the Cordilleras (UC) is seen as a big help in molding and preparing them as future communication practitioners.
These chances include the immersion of the students with the media life through experiential and actual media trainings which allowed them to have some output like the publication of news articles, live news reporting, and airing of produced programs.
Recognizing the very important role media partners and some government offices play in making the dreams of students happen, the Communication Department also dedicated to them the Communicare Awards 2017 event Thursday, July 13, at the UC Theater.
The media partners given recognition are SunStar Baguio, Aminan Balita, DZWT, Cordillera News Agency, and Tambalang Edong & Jimmy Luzano. Also recognized for serving as inspiration to many students include the Baguio City Hall Information Office, Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Office of Civil Defense Cordillera, Philippine News Agency, and the Philippine Information Agency Cordillera.
Dubbed “Make Dreams Happen” Communicare Awards was founded to promote excellence and best practices in the field of media and give recognition to the graduating students who exuded excellence in the different course discipline.
Exposing school students to the broadcast or print newspapers in Baguio by being OJT’s and immersing them with the media life will help them be prepared in facing the real world. May there be more media organizations that will support our students in pursuing their goals in life.
