A SUSPECTED carnapper died in a road accident at Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Thursday, March 9, night.

Bryan Chavez, 26 years old, resident of Purok Cagaycay, Barangay 2, was driving an allegedly carnapped motorcycle when he was hit by a pick-up truck driven by the cousin of the motorcycle owner.

The incident occurred along Burgos Extension around 10 p.m., said Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla of Police Station 4.

Sia, together with a friend, chased Chavez. They asked Chavez to pull over but he refused, and they continued to chase him until the pick-up caught up with the motorcycle.

Bonilla said they were verifying if Chavez had previous records in other police stations.

Sia was released from detention Friday afternoon after the lapse of his 18-hour reglementary period.
