Suspected drug pusher killed in Danao City shootout

POLICE killed a suspected drug pusher in a shootout in Barangay Maslog, Danao City at 1:28 a.m. Friday, March 10.

Felix "Balaw" Bohol succumbed to a gunshot wound in the chest.

Operatives rushed him to Cebu Provincial Hospital in the city, where the doctor declared him dead on arrival.

Seized during the operation were 10.16 grams of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," worth P119,888.

Also recovered from the suspect were a .38 revolver with one misfired bullet, four empty shells of .357 bullets, and an empty shell of .38 bullet inside its cylinder.

Operatives caught Vito Caballes Quiros and Josen Nuena Aguilar sniffing "shabu" near the house of Bohol.

Before the shootout happened, operatives saw Bohol sleeping on a bench outside his house.

A police officer who acted as the poseur buyer and a confidential informant woke him for a drug bust.

After Bohol gave a pack of suspected "shabu," he sensed he was dealing with the police. He ran inside his house.

Operatives surrounded the house and asked the suspect to surrender.

Bohol allegedly refused and started shooting. No one from the police was hit.

Operatives retaliated and one of them hit the suspect. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
