Suspected drug trader gunned down in Negros Oriental

POLICE are looking at possible involvement in illegal drugs as likely motive in the killing of a “high-value target” from Siaton, Negros Oriental.

Chief Inspector Varie Villalobos, Siaton police chief, identified the victim as Albert Paul Tinambacan Kintao, who died from multiple gunshot wounds Saturday evening.

Investigation revealed that Kintao, 34, a businessman from Barangay Sumaliring in Siaton, was shot a number of times by two unidentified men who were onboard a motorcycle in Barangay 1 of the Siaton Public Market.

Witnesses said the perpetrators were wearing bonnets. Police recovered five empty shells of caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene.

Villalobos said that aside from being a “high-value target,” Kintao was also in the Siaton police’s drugs watch list.

Kintao voluntarily surrendered to the Siaton police station about two to three weeks ago. He was rarely seen at his residence in Siaton and spent more time in Cebu.

Villalobos said Kintao has no known enemies in Siaton. (PNA)
