THE local police arrested a Taiwanese national for illegal distribution of pornographic materials in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The arrest was made around 11:05 a.m. Tuesday in a "buy-bust" operation jointly conducted by the police and National Bureau of Investigation in Poblacion village, Kabasalan town.
The police identified the arrested Taiwanese national as Eric Chang, 26, who is temporarily residing in Poblacion village.
Confiscated from Chang's possession were several pornographic DVDs and CDs, in violation of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code and amended by Presidential Decree 969, "For Obscene Publication."
The Taiwanese was brought to NBI headquarters in Pagadian City while appropriate charges are set to be filed in court against him, the police said.
