Taxi driver returns P300,000 in jewelry

A TAXI driver returned an estimated P307,000 worth of cash and jewelry left by his passenger in Bacolod City Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Inspector Eugene Tolentino, head of Police Station 1, said Warlito Siar turned over a bag containing cash amounting to P7,000, an iPhone 7, and assorted jewelry amounting to P300,000 to its owner Reynold Agustin at the police station.

Tolentino said Agustin sought the assistance of the nearest police station after he left his bag in Siar’s taxi around 5 p.m.

Police coordinated with the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office and Traffic Management Unit of Bacolod City Police Office to locate the taxi, Tolentino said.

A few minutes later Siar came to the police station and personally handed the bag to Agustin.
